Dear {{first_name | supporter}},
It's been a big few weeks at Sistah Space, and we want to bring you right into the heart of it. Here's what's been happening and how you can be part of what comes next.
We Took Our Report to Parliament

In February, we had the honour of presenting our groundbreaking research to MPs and policymakers at the Houses of Parliament. Chaired by Abena Oppong-Asare MP, our "Who Feels It Knows It" roundtable brought together frontline experts, politicians, and advocates to confront the findings of our landmark report on the experiences of domestic abuse support among African and Caribbean heritage Black women.
We shared the voices of over 2,200 Black women. The numbers speak for themselves:
76% don't report the abuse they experience — even though they want to
97% lack confidence that reporting would lead to fair treatment
87% say statutory agencies weren't responsive enough
They represent real women in our communities who deserve so much better.
The response from those in attendance was powerful. There is a genuine appetite within Parliament for change, and we are continuing to work closely with government to ensure these findings lead to meaningful action.
Our Shop: Reimagined
We are thrilled to announce the relaunch of our Dalston shop, transformed into a vibrant cultural community hub. Thanks to a beautiful collaboration with our ambassador FKA Twigs, the space has been reimagined from the ground up.
Step inside and you'll find curated one-off designer pieces alongside carefully selected pre-loved items. But it's so much more than a shop. The new space features a beauty and wellness area, an events space with full sound and DJ equipment, and a warm, welcoming environment designed to celebrate and uplift our community.
From pop-up styling sessions and afro hair workshops to evenings showcasing Black designers and musicians. This is a cultural destination, a place of healing, and a vital source of income to support the women we serve.

Every purchase goes directly towards our £350,000 fundraising goal, including the opening of the UK's first specialist refuge for Black women.
This powerful statement captures the essence of what makes our services unique, a space where Black women can be their authentic selves while healing from trauma.
Standing With Isabel Rose
Sistah Space is actively supporting Isabel Rose, a 25-year-old British woman who reported a rape in Hong Kong and has been convicted and imprisoned. Isabel has been stranded for over two years with no meaningful support from the British government. Her mother Aysha has remained by her side throughout, and together they have lost everything.
We are working with parliamentarians — including her MP Dame Meg Hillier, who has raised Isabel's case in the House of Commons — and we are pushing the government to act.
If this case concerns you, please write to your MP asking them to support calls for urgent consular intervention. Every voice matters.
