Dear Sistah Space Family,
Your support has meant everything. Every donation, every shared post, every word of encouragement has helped us grow from a grassroots response to tragedy into an award-winning national charity that continues to bridge critical gaps in domestic abuse services for African and Caribbean heritage women.
This Sunday, we want to celebrate with YOU.

Sunday, October 26th | 11am-6pm | Sistah Space HQ, Dalston
Come share in an uplifting morning of culture, community, and connection as we honour Black History Month together. We've planned something truly special:
✊🏾 Panel Discussion:
"Imagining the Future of Black British History and Culture" - featuring prominent cultural voices exploring where we go from here
🎵 Music
spanning the breadth of Black British sounds - from lovers rock to afrobeats
🍛 Delicious Caribbean and African-inspired food and drinks
🛍️ Heavily reduced brand new items
treat yourself while supporting our work + get gifts in time for christmas.
This gathering is about community, resilience, and imagining our collective future. Whether you come for the powerful discussions, the music, the food, or simply to connect with community, there's space for you at our table.
🎉 SPECIAL GUEST ANNOUNCEMENT 🎉
We're thrilled to announce that Kelechi Okafor will be joining our Mango Morning panel this Sunday for "Imagining the Future of Black British History and Culture"! Kelechi is a British-Nigerian multidisciplinary artist, writer, presenter, actor, and political commentator whose work fearlessly pushes boundaries and amplifies marginalised voices. As the creator of the groundbreaking podcast Say Your Mind (with over 280 episodes exploring self-reclamation through unflinching social critique) and the new Front Page Fxckery podcast that dissects British media narratives, Kelechi brings a powerful voice to our conversation.
Our 10-Year Campaign: The Next Chapter
As we mark this milestone anniversary, we're launching our most ambitious campaign yet. We're raising £350,000 to fuel our next chapter, including £100,000 to open the UK's first and only refuge specifically for Black women experiencing domestic abuse.
For ten years, we've been there when others weren't. We've understood when others couldn't. We've provided culturally sensitive, specialist support that literally saves lives. Now, we're ready to do even more - but we need your help.

Can't Make It Sunday? You Can Still Make a Difference
We understand not everyone can join us this weekend, but your support can still power this vital work:
📢 Share the Event
Help us fill the room! Share our event with friends, family, WhatsApp groups, and social networks. Use #SistahSpace10Years and help us reach more of our community.
💝 Make a Birthday Donation
Honour our 10-year milestone with a donation of £10 (or any amount that feels right). Every contribution brings us closer to our £350,000 goal and helps us continue transforming lives.
📱 Amplify Our Voice
Follow us on social media and share our posts. Your voice helps us reach women who need to know they're not alone and that specialist support exists.
🤝 Connect Us
Know organisations or individuals who might support our work? Make an introduction. Your network could help unlock crucial partnerships and resources.
Because of You
Because of supporters like you:
We've been a lifeline for thousands of Black women and families
We've delivered Valerie's Law training to organizations across the UK
We've challenged systems and broken down barriers
We've shown that culturally competent services aren't optional - they're essential
But the work isn't done. Too many Black women still suffer in silence. Too many still face the double burden of abuse and discrimination. Too many still don't know we're here.
See You Sunday?
Join us this Sunday as we celebrate how far we've come and commit to the journey ahead. Come as you are - bring your energy, your joy, your hope for the future.
And if you can't make it, know that your support - in whatever form it takes - is felt, appreciated, and vital to our mission.
Thank you for being part of the Sistah Space family. Thank you for believing that every Black woman deserves safety, support, and the chance to thrive.
With gratitude and anticipation,
That’s it for this week.
The Sistah Space Team
